(WEAR-TV) — The maker of Stanley door hardware is recalling locksets that may fail to open in an emergency.
Dormakaba USA received eight reports of latch failures on specific models.
The company says 13,500 units were sold throughout the United States. Another 1,000 were sold in Canada and Mexico. They were sold between December 2013 and June 2018 for $450 to $650.
This recall involves Stanley Commercial Hardware’s grade 1 mortise lever lock QMS/QME 100 Series. The affected locksets can be identified by looking at the mortise case installed in the door cavity. The six-character code will begin with either QMS or QME. The final characters of recalled models are: 130, 140, 145, 150, 152, 154, 158, 160, 162, 164, 170, 172, 174.
