By October, electronic locks will be put on all doors throughout Glenbrook High School District 225 buildings, including at Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South high schools, after the school board accepted bids for the installations.
The Board of Education approved bids at the May 20 meeting for approximately $1.3 million to purchase and install electronic door locks for all three school buildings in the district — including the Glenbrook Off-Campus alternative learning school.
Bids from Des Plaines-based Anderson Lock, for approximately $1.1 million, and Video Security Systems, for approximately $178,000, were approved, according to a staff report.
The bid from Video Security Systems is for the receivers that will be mounted in the ceiling and installed by district staff, said R.J. Gravel, assistant superintendent for business.
